About - Jenny Choi

Jenny Choi

Jenny Choi is a dedicated music professional with over 25 years of experience, working with students from young beginners to advanced performers. She is committed to helping each learner grow in musical skill, confidence, and personal discipline.

Born and raised in South Korea, Jenny earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and began her career as a middle school music teacher in Yong‑in. After marrying her husband, Wanjoo, in 1992, she moved to the United States and completed a Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Houston.

During her years in the U.S., Jenny built a diverse career as a piano teacher, church musician, choir conductor, and accompanist for musicians across many disciplines.

In 2021, Jenny and her husband relocated to Stavanger, Norway, and now live in Hommersåk. Since August 2022, she has served as the church musician at Høle Church, continuing her lifelong commitment to sharing music within her community.

Jenny also runs her own music studio in Hommersåk, teaching students of all ages and helping them develop musical ability, focus, and confidence. Her studio hosts two annual concerts — a summer performance in June and a winter concert in December — giving students meaningful opportunities to celebrate their progress and share their music with family and friends.
